'RRR' makers request Academy to vote for film in 'all other categories'

'RRR' in other categories of Oscars 2023: Pan Nalin's Gujarati movie 'Chhello Show' was selected as India's official entry for Oscars 2023. The film will be representing India at the upcoming 95th Academy Awards. However, the makers of the big-budget movie 'RRR' were dissatisfied with the film not being on the nomination list for Oscars 2023.

SS Rajamouli's magnum opus 'RRR' undoubtedly managed to break the box-office records on the first day with its massive opening of Rs 240 crore worldwide. The film stars Ram Charan, Jr. NTR, Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, and several others.

Although the film was not announced to be part of the Oscars 2023, the US distributors of the film 'RRR' are reportedly going to request more than 10, 000 Academy members to consider its voting for the film in all other categories.

To note, 'RRR' might be submitted for Best Picture, Director, Original Screenplay, Lead Actor, Supporting Actor and Actress, Cinematographer, Original song, and several others.

The President of Variance Films, Dylan Marchetti, said that they have heard from fans all across the nation that 'RRR' is one of the biggest films of the year. Hence, they agreed and invited Academy to consider the film in other categories.
