Salute! Muslim Man Dons Turban On His Wedding Day To Honour Sikh’s Help During Delhi Riots

While the nation is fighting against each other for their own reasons, Sikhs have been in complete support with the victims whether Hindu or Muslim. To acknowledge the Sikh community's help during the Delhi riots, a Muslim groom and his friends sported Sikh turban during his wedding ceremony in Gidderbaha on March 1.

Hailing from Fatehgarh Sahib district of Punjab, Abdul Hakeem and his friends showed their compassion to the Sikh community as they had given them food and shelter during their difficulties. Abdul is now all over the internet, being a star for the act of harmony he did and how it has melted the hearts of people.

Adbul’s father in law told a leading news daily, that the guests present at the wedding were also really appreciative of the gesture and are still congratulating him.

He added, “A Muslim is not identified only by his cap but also by his thoughts. Likewise, a true Sikh's identity is not only his turban but also his Gursikhi”.

Meanwhile, Khalsa Aid, an international non-profit aid and relief organisation founded on Sikh principles, assessed the riot-affected areas and arranged for adequate food materials for those who were not being able to come out of their houses or have taken refuge in other colonies.

We salute the act of harmony by Abdul and his friends!
