SALUTING THE LEGEND : ‘SHAHEED E AAZAM’ SARDAR BHAGAT SINGH

The revolutionary freedom fighter who sacrificed his life for the sake of getting freedom for Indians, was born in Banga Village of Faisalabad district, that was previously called Lyallpur, and is now in Pakistan’s Punjab province 28^th September 1907. Prime Minister, Narendra Modi paid him tribute today on his 110 ^th Birth Anniversary. He Tweeted, “I bow to the brave Shaheed Bhagat Singh on his jayanti. His greatness and exemplary courage inspires generations of Indians.” He was hanged in the Lahore Jail at the age of 23, along with Shivaram Hri Rajguru and Sukhdev Thapar on March 23, 1931.

His stories of bravery have been set as a perfect example of patriotism in the country and his liberating thoughts have made him a perfect idol of many Indians. Bhagat Singh’s name has been etched in Indian History and the young rebel who made the British shudder and has given us some beautiful quotes that are even relevant today. The young freedom fighter dedicated his entire life to the country and was hanged by the British for trying to secure Independence through the violent means.
