Minjar is a very popular festival celebrated in Chamba town every year with people in thousands number coming to enjoy the fest along with their families. It is believed that Minjar festival is almost as old as the city of Chamba itself and is being organized since the establishment of this town by Raja Shahil Varman. There are three different stories related to the origin of this festival, and the Minjar or maize flower in one common link between them.
