Complaint boxes will be placed at comfortable places in the schools and reports will be submitted every month. The schools should ensure that there is a complaint box on each floor, preferably on toilets, so that the students can come forward with fear. To protect from sexual abuse, girl students will be trained against good-touch and bad-touch.

Sexual Abuse

A circular for training girl students will be issued to all the schools across Punjab through all the District Education Officers in this regard. A meeting was held last month with the Women Commission with Education Board to take a step regarding the rise in the sexual abuse of girl students. In the meeting, some important decisions were taken which include providing counseling to the girl students about the kind of touches by people surrounding them in their school or society.

There are around 6.46 lac students in schools across Punjab, who are studying from 6th to 12th standard. An official source from PSEB told that two seminars are organized in Amritsar and Chandigarh for teachers to train them for new circumstances, in this regard. As per the Government of India, child sexual offenses often are not reported by the girls due to social stigma and lack of awareness.
