SGPC TO SEND A SPECIAL SIKH PILGRIMAGE TO NANKANA SAHIB ON GURU NANAK DEV JI'S BIRTH ANNIVERSARY

On the auspicious occasion of Sri Guru Nanav Dev Ji’s Birth anniversary on 4th November, a special group of Sikh Pilgrims will leave for Gurudwara Nankana Sahib in Pakistan. It will be the first time post independence that a group of Indian Sikhs will get a chance to offer obeisance and partake Langar in Nankana Sahib Gurudwara.

Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee has also sent a set of 750 thaalis, Glasses, Bowls and other utensils to Pakistan along with huge quantity of important ingredients that will be used in preparing Langar.

Apart from this special group of pilgrims, hundreds of Sikhs have already started arriving in Pakistan for Guru Nanak’s Birth celebrations.

Gurudwara Nankana Sahib, which is also referred as Gurdwara Janam Asthan is a highly revered Gurudwara that was built at the site where the founder of Sikhism, Guru Nanak, was believed to be born. This Sikh shrine is located in the city of Nankana Sahib, near the city of Lahore in the Pakistani province of Punjab.
