Shaheedi Jor Mela At Fatehgarh Sahib: Gul Panag Shares Some Pics From Her Visit

The three-day annual Shaheedi Jor Mela held to commemorate the martyrdom of the Chaar Sahibzadas of tenth Sikh Guru Guru Gobind Singh began in Fatehgarh Sahib on December 26.

On the first day, thousands of devotees thronged the gurdwaras and long queues were witnessed at Gurdwara Fatehgarh Sahib and Gurdwara Jyoti Swarup Sahib.

Well-known actress Gul Panag shared some glimpses of the Shaheedi Jor Mela. The actress took to her official Twitter handle to share few pictures from her visit and captioned them as: “Some glimpses of the shaheedi #jormela held annually at Fatehgarh Saheb- though mere images cannot possibly capture the scale of this gathering.  Fatehgarh Saheb is one of the most  sacred and holy sites for Sikhism.”

In another tweet, Gul wrote: “This event is held every year, to commemorate the martyrdom of the two youngest sons of Guru Gobind Singh in the year 1705 . An estimated 20 lakh people come from all over Punjab for this- battling fog & temperatures that dip to 3 degrees- some staying the nights in the open.”

According to the reports, more than 10 lakh devotees are expected to pay obeisance this year.
