PTC Punjabi’s TV show ‘Sirjanhaari – Samman Naari Da’ has been getting overwhelming response from the audience for showcasing inspiring tales of women who battled odds to change the world around them.

PTC Punjabi will telecast the episode 8 of ‘Sirjanhaari – Samman Naari Da’ on 6th October. The upcoming episode will showcase the journey of Usha Sharma who used her bare hands to manually clean human waste in drains for her survival.

Usha Sharma: Following her mother’s footsteps, Usha used her bare hands to manually clean human waste in drains to earn her bread and butter. She spent most of her years being treated as an “untouchable”. She was then was rescued and rehabilitated by the NGO Nai Disha.

The NGO turned her into an influential public speaker who fought against the awful task of manual scavenging and she is inspiring numerous other women! She even got the opportunity to travel the world.
