Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi, and actor Sonu Sood held a joint press conference on Friday. The AAP National Convener issued a statement regarding the 'Desh Ke Mentors' programme.
Sonu Sood, who made national headlines last year for assisting migrant workers in reaching their home states during the nationwide lockdown, was named the Delhi government's brand ambassador for a mentorship programme for children on Friday. He made the announcement after meeting with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
“We are thankful to Sonu Sood for taking time out of his busy schedule. He is an inspiration to the entire country. Thousands of people approach him for assistance. It is a miracle that he has been able to do what so many governments have not been able to do. "We had a long conversation about his work and shared the work of the Delhi government with him," Kejriwal said.
The CM elaborated on the mentorship programme, saying, "Delhi government has a mentorship programme." Many children have no idea where to go or what to do. We are pleading with people to mentor such children over the phone.
Sonu Sood, in response to the announcement, stated, "The Delhi government has created a platform for all of you to come forward." It's a fantastic opportunity. I consider myself fortunate to be able to reach thousands of students." “There isn't anything political here. We haven't talked about anything political yet "He continued.
People with experience in their professions will be encouraged to mentor groups of children enrolled in Delhi government schools under the 'Desh ke Mentor' initiative, said CM Arvind Kejriwal at a press conference, adding that the initiative will be launched in mid-September.
pic.twitter.com/tOtLcJU3rj
