There was a time when fitness in cricket was not a pre-requisite to get into national teams but a personal choice. Hence, only a few players used to follow a workout routine which was compulsory in other professional sports though. Now, the things have changed and players are required to pass the fitness test to play for national teams. Their skills, expertise, fitness level and techniques matter a lot nowadays. Therefore, the players are becoming more concerned about their fitness levels than used to do earlier.
