Singer Gitaz Bindrakhia posted an emotional note on his late father Surjit Bindrakhia’s 57th birth anniversary on April 15. Bindrakhia, who breathed his last in 2003, was a versatile singer and is still remembered as a trendsetter in Punjabi folk singing. During his singing career, Bindrakhia sang over 250 songs.
Gitaz took to his official Instagram handle to share a picture of legendary Punjabi singer and he captioned the image as: “Happy Birthday Papa🙏🏼😇Kithon Karlu Rees Mein Tere Pairan Varga Han🙏🏼❤️Love You & Mommy❤️More Than Everything #surjitbindrakhia #legend #gitazbindrakhia #bindrakhia.”
Bindrakhia, who started out as a `Bhangra’ artist, switched over to Punjabi songs in the year 1991-92. He became popular with his Punjabi album `Munda Ki Mangada’.
He became a house-hold name in Punjab with popular hits such as “Tere vich tu ni tera yaar bolda”, “Dupatta tera satrang da”, and “Lak tunu tunu”.
