To Spread The Message Of Brotherhood, This Gurudwara In Dubai To Hold Daily Iftar This Ramadan
The UAE’s only Sikh temple ‘Guru Nanak Darbar Gurudwara located in Dubai’s Jebel Ali has been hosting an interfaith iftar at the time of Ramadan for six years. However, this year it was decided that the Gurudwara will host daily iftar for the workers in the locality.
Chairman Surender Singh Kandhari told Gulf News, “There are a lot of Muslim workers in this area. There are not many places from where they can break their fast. We will invite these workers to have iftar from our Gurudwara.”
He adds, “We will add dates, fruits, rose milk, buttermilk, and some Indian snacks like pakora, samosa etc also for them. We expect to host 100 to 200 believers every day during Ramadan,”
The chairman believes that it will bring out a lot of harmony among different religions, especially at this time when there is a lot of hatred and intolerance in the name of religion.
