Veteran actor Shashi Kapoor, who had been unwell for quite some time breathed his last today at a Hospital in Mumbai. The third and youngest son of Prithviraj Kapoor, Shashi Kapoor made his Bollywood debut in 1961, as the lead actor, in the film Dharmputra. publive-image Shashi Kappor was honoured with Padma Bhushan by the Government of India for his contributions to Art-Cinema. In 2015, he was awarded the 2014 Dadasaheb Phalke Award, making him the third member of his family to receive the highest award in Indian Cinema after Prithviraj Kapoor and Raj Kapoor.<4> He passed away on 04th December 2017 after prolonged illness at Mumbai. publive-image Confirming the news on Twitter, Shashi Kapoor’s nephew Marwah said, “My favourite Shashi Kapoor rests in peace today. Will be remembered always.” Shashi Kapoor had started living alone after the death of his wife Jennifer from cancer in 1984 and from there he started growing distance from Hindi Film Industry.
