Veteran Bollywood Actor Girish Karnad Passes Away, He Was 81

Noted actor, director, and playwright, Girish Karnad passed away on June 10 morning. He had worked predominantly in South Indian and Bollywood film industry. The Padma Shri award winner passed away at the age of 81 after a prolonged illness due to multiple organ failure.

He was born on May 19, 1938 in Maharashtra. Girish made his acting debut in a Kannada movie Samskara in 1970. He also worked in Hindi films like Manthan , Pukar , Iqbal, Dor, and Ek Tha Tiger.

Actress Shruti Haasan took down to her Twitter account as she mourns the death of one of the most prominent artists of the film industry.

Girish Kanad was last seen in the Bollywood movie ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’, starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif in the lead.
