On social media, a video of an Indian bride claiming she wants to wear comfortable jeans to her wedding instead of her heavy bridal lehenga for the phera ceremony has gone viral. Witty Wedding's Instagram account shared the video.
The bride is dressed in a red blouse and a bridal dupatta in the short clip. She's wearing ripped jeans instead of a lehenga.
"Mereko lehenga nahin pehnna, raise he jana hai" says the bride. which can be closely translated as, "I don't want to wear a lehenga; I simply want to dress like this), "
Soon after her words, her friends and family start hooting and everyone chuckles at the bride's remark. Also, someone even offers to lead her downstairs to the mandap in that manner.
Sharing the video on social media, the user wrote, "When Bride doesn't want to wear her Lehnga but wants to go to her Pheras in her Denim."
The bride in the viral video is recognized as Mudra Bhagat. In a short span of time, the video has surpassed 9 lakh views on Instagram. Over 61,000 people have liked it.
As one user put it, "Then there's the question of why she designed the lehenga. These bridal gowns are exorbitantly priced." "It's your wedding.....do it your way," wrote another.
However, the bride did wear her bridal lehenga and looked gorgeous on her D-Day.
