For many years Sikhs have been serving Chabeel, sweetened scented water or popularly called as Kachi Lassi, to general public in India during the hot summer months to save them from scorching sun and heat.

Sikhs stand under the heat in various places across India to provide chilled pink Chabeel in glasses to the passers-by.

Chabeel is a Punjabi word meaning a cold, non-alcoholic sweet drink. Besides providing relief from the scorching sun and heat to the general public, Sikhs serve Chabeel to remember the martyrdom of Guru Arjan Dev ji who became the first Sikh matyr in 1606.

Recently, a video of a Sikh kid serving Chabeel under scorching heat is doing the rounds on internet. People are praising this little kid for his sweet gesture of providing Chabeel to passers-by.
