BE A HEART HEALTHY ON THIS WORLD HEART DAY

Being Punjabi we love to feast on everything that cannot be termed healthy especially for heart. Be it butter, desi ghee, butter chicken, just about anything and everything that we eat impacts heart in negative way. And on top of that, Punjabis rarely indulge in physical activities that makes the situation all the way worse.

So, today on 29th September which is now officially termed as the World Heart Day we bring you five reason why you need to shed those extra kilos to make a healthy heart. You don’t have to give up on your taste buds as we know being Punjabi it’s practically impossible. So here we go:

  1. Avoid Long Sitting Stretches

    As a regular Punjabi with some exceptions like from farming industry, we presume that you’re not someone who toils hard day and night to eke out his meals but rather you have a job that involves a lot of sitting. So the first thing first, avoid long sitting hours.

  1. Know your Heart

    They say prevention is better than the cure. But in order to prevent, one should be sufficiently equipped with the knowledge. So know your heart better. Watch what you eat, read on the internet the implications of your eating behavior on your heart.

  1. Keep a Tab on Your Blood Pressure

    Most of the people think that symptoms of high blood pressure always appear on one’s body and until you have those symptoms, your blood pressure is just fine. Well, that’s a myth. To get your blood pressure check on regular intervals is highly recommended.

  1. Indulge in Nutritious Food

    This may be a little hard to achieve because we all know that nutritious food is seldom tasty and we Punjabis never compromise on taste. Well, you have to choose one or the other.

  1. Be Stress Free

    Though we rarely get stressed out this point is holds great importance because most of the heart diseases are directly related your mental health.
