Akshay Kumar talks about 'Boycott' trend: While there is a trend related to the call for a boycott of 'Raksha Bandhan', the actor recently discussed the same on Twitter while he was promoting his upcoming movie. After the writer Kanika Dhillon's purportedly "Hinduphobic" tweets were pulled out by several people, 'Raksha Bandhan' film started drawing criticism. A lot of people recommended people to boycott the movie in theatres.
Akshay Kumar was recently asked about a boycott of both Aamir Khan's 'Laal Singh Chaddha' and his upcoming film 'Raksha Bandhan' at a promotional event in Kolkata. “As I just said this, it is a free country, everyone can do what they want. But this all (films) helps the economy of India. We are all at the verge of becoming the biggest and the greatest country. I would request them (the trolls) and you (the media), don’t get into it,” said Akshay Kumar.
Currently, Akshay Kumar is busy promoting his upcoming film 'Raksha Bandhan' as he is traveling throughout the country. The film also features Sadia Khateeb, Smrithi Srikanth, Deepika Khanna, and Sahejmeen Kaur.
The film is directed by Anand L Rai that is slated to release on August 11, 2022.
