Box office day 1 collection: 'Laal Singh Chaddha' or 'Raksha Bandhan', which film did better?

'Laal Singh Chaddha' vs 'Raksha Bandhan' Box Office Day 1 Collection:

According to film trade analyst Taran Adarsh, 'Raksha Bandhan' garnered Rs 8.20 crore on the first day.

"#RakshaBandhan has a disappointing start on Day 1... Mass circuits perform better , but metros are extremely weak... Biz needs to grow/jump from Fri-Sun to improve its prospects... Thu Rs 8.20 cr. #India biz," Adarsh stated in its tweet.

On the other hand, Aamir Khan's 'Laal Singh Chaddha' bagged around Rs 12 crores at the box office.

"#LaalSinghChaddha opens low yesterday. Day 1 Early Estimates for All-India Nett is around Rs 12 Crs," tweeted film trade analyst Ramesh Bala.

Directed by Advait Chandan, 'Laal Singh Chaddha' is an official Hindi adaptation of the Hollywood classic, 'Forrest Gump' while Akshay Kumar is a family drama.

Notably, both films faced calls for a boycott of the films due to different reasons.
