Brahmastra: Ayan Mukherji reveals 'inspiration' behind Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor's 'Astra verse'

Ayan Mukherji's inspiration for Brahmastra: Bollywood director Ayan Mukherji, is all set to bring a big-budget film 'Brahmastra' featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and several the mega stars on September 9.

The film is already creating buzz for its first-ever 'Astra Verse' concept in the history of Hindi films. In a recent video, Ayan Mukherji disclosed his 'inspiration' behind creating one of the most-awaited films 'Brahmastra'.

Ayan discussed how his father repeatedly told him ancient tales, sowing the seeds of 'Brahmastra' in his subconscious from an early age. He believed that every Indian, in some way, was shaped by Indian philosophy.

Lord Vishnu, Lord Ganesha, Lord Hanuman, and Indian goddesses like Kaali and Durga are among the legendary figures that Ayan Mukerji discussed as being absolutely fascinating. He admitted that the storyline was influenced by a number of Hollywood books and movies in addition to the Indian culture.

He said that he noticed how Hollywood was utilizing technology to bring its concepts to life. 'Lord of the Rings' and 'Harry Potter' were his all-time favourite books, he said.

He further added that, as a budding director, he investigated how the western film industry had heavily incorporated technology to create big-screen spectacles.

For the unversed, Ayan Mukherji's 'Brahmastra' would be the first Indian film based on the universe of 'The Astraverse' which will be released in 3 parts.

'Brahmastra: Shiva Part One' is one of the much-awaited films that Bollywood will be releasing in 5 different languages, including Hindi.

Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the film will be presented by SS Rajamouli in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada and features Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy and Nagarjuna Akkineni.
