Television actress Sanchita Ugale, known for her roles in the popular TV shows Kumkum Bhagya and Wagle Ki Duniya, passed away on Sunday, June 14. She was 22 years old.
According to police officials, the incident took place at her residence in Nalasopara East. Sanchita reportedly locked herself inside her bedroom at Sai Santoshi Building in Aachole Village and was later found hanging from a ceiling fan.
Assistant Police Inspector Vinod Bagh of Achole Police Station said the incident is believed to have occurred between 7:00 pm and 7:30 pm. Family members and local residents immediately rushed her to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.
Police reached the location after receiving information about the incident and completed the required procedures. An inquest report was prepared, and the body was sent for post-mortem examination.
Based on a complaint filed by her father, Machhindra Ugale, Achole Police registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) on June 15. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the case.
Sanchita began her acting career on television and gained recognition through her performances in several popular serials. She later played the lead role of Sukoon in the television drama Dilwali Dulha Le Jayegi.
In an earlier interview, the actress spoke about her love for television and her ambition to grow as a performer. She said that television gave opportunities to talented and hardworking artists and helped her develop her acting skills.

Apart from television, Sanchita also worked in films and digital projects. She portrayed the younger version of Tara Rani in the historical drama Chhaava starring Vicky Kaushal. Her other notable work included the crime thriller Silence 2: The Night Owl Bar Shootout featuring Manoj Bajpayee.
Sanchita's untimely death has shocked members of the television industry and her fans, who have expressed their condolences on social media.
