Recently, Chris Rock, during a comedy set at the Arizona Financial Theatre in Phoenix, Arizona, referred to the Oscars as returning to the scene of a crime, the People reported.

While talking about the hosting offer, Chris Rock referred to the 1995 murder trial of O.J. Simpson. He said it would be like asking the late Nicole Brown Simpson "to go back to the restaurant" where her mother had left a pair of glasses the night she died.

Recalling the 'slap incident' at the Oscars, Chris Rock said that Will Smith's slap hurts referencing the actor's move as Muhammed Ali in the 2001 movie Ali. He said, "he's bigger than me and that the state of Nevada would also not sanction a fight between me and Will Smith."
