'Jaandi Vaar' song isn't 'authorised' by Sidhu Moose Wala's family; here's what Bunty Bains said

'Jaandi Vaar' song illegal? A day after Salim Merchant announced the release date for the upcoming song of Sidhu Moose Wala and Afsana Khan, 'Jaandi Vaar', the lyricist and music composer Bunty Bains issued a statement requesting Salim to not release the song as it has not been 'authorised' by Sidhu Moose Wala's family.

On Wednesday, Salim Merchant announced that 'Jaandi Vaar' song, featuring Sidhu Moose Wala and Afsana Khan, will release on September 2. However, it seems the song won't release on September 2 as Bunty Bains requested Salim to not release the song without taking permission from the late singer's family.

As per Bunty's claim, Salim wanted to release the song just 3-4 days after Sidhu Moose Wala's death but Shubhdeep’s father had sent him a voice note to hold on for any release so that the family can first discuss and understand the entire details of the project.

Bunty Bains further requested Salim Merchant with folded hands to support them and not release any song without the family’s confirmation and approval as various people are leaking Sidhu's songs.

Furthermore, Bunty said that commercialising Sidhu's vocals and his name in the form of NFT besides offering unlicensed merchandise of Sidhu Moose Wala and unlawful use of his e-signature without any permission by joining hands with entities such as @kalakaar_io, is entirely illegal and that it infringes the rights at multiple levels.

This part of the statement led to queries among Sidhu Moose Wala's fans if the song 'Jaandi Vaar' is illegal. In the meanwhile, Bunty Bains requested Salim Merchant to, immediately, pull down all such material.
