'2018' OTT Release: Know when and where to watch the Malayalam survival thriller online?
Survival thrillers are still not a thing of extraordinary in Indian movie business, but a movie made on Kerala floods surely out-numbered every hoax regarding survival thrillers in the country. Under the direction of Jude Anthany Joseph, the movie was released theatrically on May 5, 2023. The '2018' movie features a big scale of casts that includes Asif Ali, Kunchacko Boban, Aparna Balamurali, Narain, Vineeth Sreenivasan, Tanvi Ram, Lal Indrans, Tovino Thomas, Siddique, Aju Varghese, Gauthami Nair, and Sshivada, Kalaiyarasan and few others. '2018' is an Indian movie helmed from the Malayalam industry which is based on the mortifying floods of Kerala which took place five years ago. The after math scene of it's release is so astonishing that every theatre started getting packed with people who drawn in the movie to collect more than Rs. 190 crores at the box office globally, within four days of it's release!
OTT release date and platform
After a successful big screen release in the theatres, the movie geared up tighter for it's digital debut. The movie was released on OTT on 7 July, streaming only on Sony LIV. The OTT giant announced it's digital release while sharing the 2018 trailer and wrote, “An exceptional survival which became the biggest Malayalam blockbuster streaming on SonyLiv”.
On the unversed, '2018' garnered numerous positive acclamations for showcasing the state's biggest catastrophe, The Kerala flood of 2018 that took away innocent lives and left the state in crumbs of never-seen devastation. In-fact, the floods of 2018 was even considered as the worst ever floods after 1924 floods that devoured and ravaged thousands of lives
