'Maidaan' teaser: Ajay Devgn teases fans with a glimpse of awaited sports drama
Ajay Devgn unveils 'Maidaan' teaser: On Bholaa's opening day, the first 'Maidaan' teaser was released. Ajay Devgn's newest film, 'Maidaan', has been hailed as one of his most ambitious to date. It tells the true tale of Syed Abdul Rahim, an unsung hero who made so many records and contributions to Indian history that, 60 years later, we are still unable to match them in football, the most popular sport in the world.
The teaser opens with an introduction to the Indian football team of the 1950s, which has only qualified twice for the Olympics. They are playing the "biggest game" barefoot, which makes them distinctive. The next character we meet is broody coach Syed Abdul Rahim, played by Ajay. There is a lengthy training montage, some incredible goals, a preview of the team's opponents, and then some stirring pep words.

"Maidaan is my favorite by far. It's one of my best films, which I don't often say. It's taken on a very good shape. The plot, directing, performances, and every other aspect of the movie appear amazing", said Ajay Devgn.
Priyamani and Amit Sharma also appear in the movie, which is directed by Amit Sharma of Badhaai Ho. AR Rahman composed the soundtrack. Covid has caused a significant delay in the release of the movie. The new release date for the movie is June 23.
