OMG 2 OTT: Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi's blockbuster film to release online? Director Spills Beans

The movie 'OMG 2' has been making waves at the box office recently. Director Amit Rai, in a recent interview, expressed his disappointment at the film receiving an 'A' certificate. He also revealed that the film would soon be available on OTT platforms without any alterations.

About 'OMG 2' movie

In the interview, Amit Rai shared his feelings about the 'A' certificate. He mentioned, "We were heartbroken because we made the film for everyone to watch, now that cannot happen. We begged them to give us a U/A certificate (children below 12 years of age can watch a film under parental guidance) but they didn't. We tried to convince them till the very end... But then they walked some distance, we walked some distance. The film has been released with modifications..."

OMG 2 OTT release date and platform

When asked about the OTT release of "OMG 2" and whether it would be presented without any cuts, Amit replied, "We are happy people have loved the film. The intent of the film was pure. Nobody wanted to titillate the audience, hence they liked it. We have dealt with the story in a way that doesn't sound vulgar. We talk about the reality but in a sweet and humorous way."

OMG 2 certification

After weeks of speculations, "OMG 2" was ultimately granted an 'A' certificate with 27 cuts. Reports suggest that the makers initially aimed for a 'UA' certificate as the film deals with sex education and aims to educate teenagers. However, they had to settle for an 'A' certificate to release the film in theaters.

"OMG 2" faced competition from Sunny Deol's "Gadar 2" and Rajinikanth's "Jailer," both of which enjoyed strong openings at the box office. The film boasts a star-studded cast including Akshay Kumar, Yami Gautam, and Pankaj Tripathi. It delves into the state of sex education in Indian schools, with Akshay portraying the role of a messenger of Lord Shiva. The film opened to critical acclaim.

Note: As of now, the OTT platform and release date of the film is not revealed by the makers.
