Diljit Dosanjh AURA India Tour kicks off in Delhi with 70,000 fans; singer says, 'Bohat Logon Ka Zor Laga Tha Ki Delhi Show Na Ho!'

Diljit Dosanjh's much-awaited AURA India Tour kicked off in Delhi on October 30, turning Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium into a sea of music, dance and celebration. Despite facing several challenges, controversies and situations that threatened to disrupt the event, the Punjabi superstar made a grand entry and delivered an unforgettable performance. Nearly 70,000 fans gathered at the stadium, filling the venue to its capacity and making the opening night a massive success. The concert was not just a musical celebration but also became an opportunity for Diljit to address the difficulties he faced before bringing the show to Delhi.

'Bohat Logon Ka Zor Laga Tha Ki Delhi Show Na Ho'

Following the successful concert, Diljit went LIVE on social media and spoke about the challenges surrounding the event. Addressing his fans, he said, "Bohat logon ka zor laga tha ki Delhi show na ho!" (Many people tried really hard to make sure the Delhi show did not happen). His statement reflected the hurdles he had faced before finally bringing the much-awaited concert to life. However, despite the opposition and controversies, the singer made it clear that he was now in India and would continue with his AURA Tour.

He also addressed the criticism surrounding his earlier 'I'm an artist' remark during the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protest controversy. Responding to the criticism, Diljit said, "Punjabion ko naa sikhaao kaise ladayiaan ladi jaati hain," meaning that Punjabis do not need to be taught how to fight their battles. He further emphasised that no one understands standing up for a cause better than a Punjabi.

Six Hours of Music, Energy and Bhangra

According to BookMyShow, the concert lasted nearly six hours, with entry permitted for audiences aged five and above. Diljit opened the evening with 'Morni', immediately setting the stadium buzzing with excitement. He followed it up with popular tracks such as 'G.O.A.T.', 'Lalkara', 'Ikk Kudi', 'Naina', 'Case', 'Panjtaara', 'Hass Hass' and 'Water'. His soulful rendition of 'Saanson Ki Mala' also received an enthusiastic response.

From multiple outfit changes and energetic bhangra performances to impressive choreography and larger-than-life stage production, the concert offered fans a complete entertainment experience. One of the biggest highlights was Diljit singing while suspended high above the stage. He also invited several fans onto the stage, allowing them to dance and sing alongside him.

Diljit Thanks Delhi Police for Their Support

The event took place amid heightened security following a threatening email warning of a possible suicide bombing. During the performance, Diljit took a moment to thank the Delhi Police, CRPF and Delhi Metro Rail Corporation for their efforts in ensuring smooth event management and security arrangements.

In an emotional moment, he invited a female police officer onto the stage and said that seeing her reminded him of his mother. He shared that his mother had called him that morning to ask him to take care of himself. Looking at the officer, he felt as if his mother was right there with him.

Successful Night with a Strong Message

The concert concluded with spectacular laser displays carrying the messages 'Main Hoon Punjab' and 'I'm an artist bro'. Abhijeet Dipke of the Cockroach Janta Party, who had earlier criticised Diljit's remarks, was also present at the concert and shared a selfie from the event.

With nearly 70,000 fans, six hours of entertainment and a spectacular stage production, Diljit gave his AURA India Tour a memorable beginning. Despite the challenges before the event, the Delhi concert turned out to be a massive success, proving that the singer was determined to let his music take centre stage.
