Padma Shri Kaur Singh Biopic: Actor Karam Batth Ready To Fight Muhammad Ali As The Only Indian Boxer
While not many people know that Kaur Singh is a former Indian heavyweight champion boxer from Punjab. He has represented the nation in the Olympics 1984. The winner of Padma Shri award for outstanding contribution to Indian sports is getting a biopic under his name.
The film has been roped by actor Karam Batth, and he is all set to win the hearts of the audience with his performance. The shoot for the film titled Padma Shri Kaur Singh was recently wrapped up.
Karam took down to his official Instagram handle to share some behind the scene and preparatory moments from the film. Karam went boxing training in Canada for eight months before he began shooting for the film.
Talking about Kaur Singh, he was born in Khanal Khurd in Sangrur, Punjab's Malwa region. Kaur Singh a small-time farmer before joining the Indian army in 1979. After becoming a boxer, he won three gold medals for senior national boxing championship, Asian Boxing Championship and Asian Games.
Singh has also fought against Muhammad Ali in an exhibition match of four-round.
The film is currently under post production phase and is slated to release in 2020.
Also, the movie features actors including Prabh Grewal, Baninder Bunny, Sukhbir Gill, Avisaar, Sukhwinder Chahal, Malkeet Rauni, Seema Kaushal, Gurpreet Bhangu among others in substantial roles.
