'Nightingale of Pakistan' Nayyara Noor dies at 71

Pakistani singer Nayyara Noor death news: Nayyara Noor, a well-known Pakistani singer whose beautiful melodies have won so many hearts on both sides of the border, passed away on Sunday after a brief illness, according to her family. She was one of the last musical legends to stand for the common culture of India and Pakistan. In case, you don't know who was Nayyara Noor, then you are in the right place.

Nayyara Noor had been reportedly receiving treatment in Karachi for a while.

The singer's death was announced and confirmed by a family member. Her nephew Raza Zaidi stated, “It is with heavy heart that I announce the passing of my beloved aunt (tayi) Nayyara Noor. May her soul R.I.P. She was given the title of ‘Bulbul-e-Pakistan’ because of her melodious voice."

Who was Nayyara Noor?

She left behind an outstanding history and a multitude of wonderful compositions. She was born in 1950 in Guwahati. Some of her popular songs are 'Rang Barsaat Nay Bharay Kuchh Tou', 'Phir Sawan Ruth Ki Pawan Chali Tum Yaad Aye', 'Aye Ishq Hamay Barbaad Na Kar', 'Barkha Barsay Chhat Per', and 'Mein Teray Sapnay Deikhuun'.

In 2006, Noor received the honorary title "Bulbul-e-Pakistan" (Nightingale of Pakistan).

She received the "Pride of Performance Award" in 2006, and by 2012, she officially retired from the music industry.
