Ranveer Singh receives Etoile d'Or award at Marrakech; actor performs 'Gully Boy' rap

Ranveer Singh news: Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh, is surely making everyone proud with his achievements worldwide. The actor recently was felicitated by the Etoile d'Or award on the opening night of the Marrakech International Film Festival while dancing and performing an impromptu rap song from the movie "Gully Boy" on stage.

The report claims that Ranveer also showcased signature moves and danced at the festival's opening ceremony. The Marrakech Etoile d'Or trophy was given to the actor, and while receiving the same he said that he believes there is a lot of pain and suffering the world is facing right now, however, he feels that he as an entertainer the best thing he can do is to lighten the pain and the burden of the spectators.

After the opening ceremony performance, he went to Marrakech's renowned Jemaa El Fna Square to watch Ranveer's Sanjay Leela Bhansali-directed movie "Bajirao Mastani."

He performed a rap song from "Gully Boy" for the audience there and danced once more. The Marrakech International Film Festival has historically honoured Indian movie icons like Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Aamir Khan. In 2012, the festival held a special sidebar to commemorate 100 years of Indian cinema.

The event will take place from November 11 to November 19 and is the first edition since 2019. According to reports, event host Nabila Kilani said that jury members Oscar Isaac, an American actor and producer of Guatemalan origin, and Danish director Susanne Bier were unable to attend due to "challenging circumstances."
