83, a film starring Ranveer Singh, has already gotten a lot of attention. Fans have adored everything about the film, from the trailer to the music, and are eagerly awaiting its release. The film has once again made the headlines, but this time for all the opposite reasons.

After an allegation of cheating was lodged against the film's producers, the picture got itself in heated air. Deepika Padukone has been drawn into this contentious lawsuit because she is one of the film's producers.

Mumbai court has been asked to intervene in a dispute between Vibri Media, the producers of the soon-to-be-released Bollywood film 83, and a UAE-based financier company, alleging conspiracy, defrauding, and conniving to siphon money from it to make the film.

Future Resource FZE has filed a complaint with the Andheri Metropolitan Magistrate's Court, demanding action against the film's producers under Indian Penal Code sections 406 (criminal breach of trust), 420 (cheating), and 120-B (criminal conspiracy).

Multiple agreements including filmmakers Kabir Khan, Sajid Nadiadwala, and Deepika Padukone, among others, are claimed to have been made. The funds were reportedly used for the production of Ranveer Singh's film 83 without the businessman's written consent. In a statement, lawyer Rizwan Siddiquee said that his client has filed a criminal complaint against all of 83's producers, alleging cheating and criminal conspiracy.

The film, directed by Kabir Khan, tells the true story of India's victory in the 1983 World Cup final when the team defeated West Indies to win their first-ever World Cup.  Kapil Dev's role is portrayed by Ranveer Singh. Deepika Padukone whereas will be seen as Romi, Kapil's wife, in the film "83."
