The morning of July 30th ushered in a calamity of immense proportions in Wayanad, Kerala, as nature unleashed its fury in the form of a catastrophic landslide. This natural disaster, precipitated by relentless heavy rains, has wrought unparalleled devastation, resulting in the tragic loss of hundreds of lives. The landslide obliterated entire families, leaving many individuals grappling for their survival. As the search for missing persons continues, hope is dwindling for the recovery of survivors. In response to this grave tragedy, various teams from the Air Force, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Army, and police have mobilised for rescue operations, now shifting their focus towards the grim task of recovering bodies.

In the late hours of July 29th, the landslide struck the villages of Attamala, Mundakkai, Chooralmala, and Noolpuzha in Wayanad with relentless ferocity. The disaster swept away cars, homes, and bridges, leaving behind a scene of utter devastation. The army's intervention has been crucial, with over 1,000 people successfully rescued and more than 3,000 individuals relocated to relief camps. Despite these efforts, the toll of the disaster is heavy, with hundreds confirmed dead.
Amidst this sea of tragedy, the response from South Indian celebrities has been both timely and generous. Leading the philanthropic charge, actors from the region have made significant contributions to the relief fund, demonstrating a profound sense of responsibility and empathy.
