TMKOC fame Jennifer Mistry Wins Legal battle against Producer Asit Kumar Modi

Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal, known for her role as Mrs. Roshan Sodhi on the beloved TV series Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (TMKOC), recently took to her official Instagram account to share a significant update regarding her legal battle against TMKOC producer Asit Kumar Modi for sexual harassment.

Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal About her VICTORY

In her social media post,  Jennifer disclosed that following her declaration of victory in the case, the court had ordered Asit Modi to settle her outstanding dues and compensate her with Rs 5 lakh. This decision came after Jennifer's claim that Modi intentionally withheld her payment, amounting to around ₹25-30 lakh, in addition to the compensation for harassment.

The verdict, announced on February 15, 2024, was initially kept confidential as per advice, but Jennifer decided to make it public now. Expressing a mix of emotions, she stressed the significance of preserving a woman's reputation and lamented the delay in receiving her rightful earnings for her work spanning over 40 days on TMKOC.

Despite the vindication she felt in proving Modi guilty of sexual harassment,  Jennifer expressed disappointment that no punishment had been meted out to all three accused, including Sohil and Jatin, who were not addressed in the verdict.

In a heartfelt note, Jennifer extended gratitude to her husband Bobby Bansiwal, lawyer Ammitt Share, and her support system for standing by her during the ordeal. She also shared a video on her Instagram account, displaying a victorious hand gesture.

Reflecting on her journey, Jennifer emphasized the toll the ordeal took on her mental health, career, relationships, and finances, especially considering the impact on her young daughter. She voiced her dissatisfaction with the lack of consequences for the other accused individuals and pledged to continue fighting for justice.

This development stems from an FIR filed in 2023 against Asit Modi, Sohail Ramani, and Jatin Bajaj based on Jennifer's allegations of sexual harassment. Jennifer had accused Modi of making unwanted advances and creating a toxic environment on the set of TMKOC.

Jennifer's bravery in speaking out against the harassment and her determination to seek justice highlight the importance of addressing workplace misconduct and supporting victims. Her case serves as a reminder of the challenges many individuals face in speaking out against powerful figures and the need for systemic changes to prevent such incidents in the future.
