US Secretary is all praise for Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh, says 'We dance to the beats of Diljit'

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken praised the cultural impact of India on America during a luncheon honouring Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi that was hosted by US Vice President Kamala Harris. Blinken emphasised in his speech the great admiration and devotion for renowned Punjabi musician and actor Diljit Dosanjh among Americans. Dosanjh's appearances at the prestigious Coachella music festival and the happiness he spreads through his music were mentioned by the Secretary of State as examples of his influence on American society.

In order to highlight the close relationships between the two countries, Secretary of State Blinken said, "Here in the US, India is part of our daily lives." He highlighted the enjoyment of Indian literature, citing Jhumpa Lahiri's novels that are relished alongside traditional Indian snacks like samosas. Furthermore, he recognized the popularity of Indian-American comedian Mindy Kaling, whose comedic talents resonate with American audiences. Blinken then mentioned the energetic beats of Diljit Dosanjh's music that captivate listeners at events like Coachella, a renowned music festival in California.

Following Secretary Blinken's mention, Diljit Dosanjh took to Twitter to share a video clip of the Secretary's address. Accompanied by Indian and American flags, the post symbolized the unity between the two nations. Diljit, known for his humility, allowed the gesture to speak for itself and did not provide a caption.

Meanwhile, in April of this year, Diljit Dosanjh achieved a significant milestone as the first Punjabi singer to perform at the internationally acclaimed Coachella music festival. Held annually in the Coachella Valley, California, the festival attracts top-class performers from around the world. Diljit's electrifying performance at this esteemed event brought immense pride to the Indian community and showcased the global appeal of Punjabi music.
