AFTER EXCEEDING IN COMEDY ROLES, ANITA DEVGN TO PLAY A FIERCE AND CUNNING POLITICIAN IN 'PUNJAB SINGH'

Anita Devgn, one of the most versatile actress in Punjabi Film Industry is mostly recognized for her comic characters in films like ‘Jatt & Juliet, Ronde Sare Vyah Picho, Angrej and Judge Singh LLB. Known for often playing a cranky mother’s role in most of her films, Anita Devgn seems to have decided to shed her comic image.

‘Punjab Singh’, upcoming Punjabi film releasing on 19^th January, will have Anita Devgn essaying a role which will take her fans by surprise. Anita Devgn will be playing ‘Jai Kaur’, an illiterate, fierce and cunning politician, who hurls choicest of abuses without a twinge of hesitation. One of her dialogues that goes, ‘ਬੜੀ ਕੁੱਤੀ ਜਨਾਨੀ ਹਾਂ ਮੈਂ, ਵੱਡੀ ਚੰਡਾਲ ਤੇ ਸਿਰੇ ਦੀ ਚਵਲ’, gives a glimpse of the depth in her character. After playing comedy roles in more than a dozen Punjabi films, this will be the first time for Anita Devgn to play a serious character and we are sure that audience is going to like it as much as her other roles.
