Alia Bhatt starrer 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' to be released in January 2022

Maharashtra government has announced to reopen theaters on October 22. And ever since then, the Bollywood filmmakers are announcing the release dates of the much awaited films.

Adding to the list of release dates, Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has finally unveiled the release date of Alia Bhatt starrer ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’.

Previously, Gangubai Kathiawadi was supposed to be released on July 30, but it was pushed back due to production issues. After rumours of a digital premiere, its production company, PEN India Ltd, recently confirmed that Gangubai Kathiawadi will be released in theatres.

The film will be released in theatres next year, as the producers have promised. Bhansali Productions, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's production house, announced the film's release date on social media: "The wait to witness her power, strength, and resilience is over. On January 6, 2022, Gangubai Kathiawadi will be released in theatres near you."

Gangubai Kathiawadi also stars Vijay Raaz, Indira Tiwari, Seema Pahwa, and Ajay Devgn and Emraan Hashmi in cameo roles. Shantanu Maheshwari, a television actor-dancer, also marks his Bollywood debut.
