Yash Raj Films has finally dropped the first teaser of Alpha, introducing audiences to a new chapter in its expanding Spy Universe. Headlined by Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, the film promises a female-led action spectacle packed with high-stakes missions, intense combat sequences, and emotional drama.

The one-minute-55-second teaser primarily follows Alia Bhatt's character, offering a glimpse into her journey from an 18-year-old celebrating her birthday with her father to a fearless operative preparing for her first mission. Bobby Deol, who plays her father, appears throughout the teaser as the mentor responsible for shaping her into a skilled soldier.

With stylish action choreography, military training sequences, and dramatic visuals, the teaser establishes Alia as the central figure while hinting at the dangerous world she is about to enter.

Sharvari’s Complete Absence Leaves Fans Surprised

While the teaser succeeds in building anticipation, it has also left many viewers with one major question -where is Sharvari?

Despite being announced as one of the film's lead actors and consistently appearing alongside Alia Bhatt in every official poster and press release, Sharvari does not feature in a single frame of the teaser. Her absence immediately became one of the biggest talking points on social media, with fans expressing both confusion and curiosity.

Many expected the teaser to introduce both protagonists, especially since YRF has promoted Alpha as a film led by two women in the Spy Universe.

Social Media Reacts to the Missing Spy

Fans quickly shared their thoughts on X, with one user writing that the teaser looked better than expected and praised Alia Bhatt's presentation but questioned why Sharvari had been left out. The same post also criticized Bobby Deol's Haryanvi accent and called Sharvari's absence "surprising."

Another user described the teaser as an adrenaline-filled experience with "goosebumps guaranteed," appreciating the focus on women-led action while asking why the makers chose not to reveal Sharvari's character.

However, some viewers defended the creative decision. They argued that the teaser, titled "First Kill," appears to be solely dedicated to introducing Alia's character and her first mission, suggesting that Sharvari could receive a separate character reveal closer to the film's release.

Fans Defend the Marketing Strategy

As discussions intensified, several fans urged people not to jump to conclusions. One social media user pointed out that everyone seemed overly concerned about Sharvari missing from Alia's introduction teaser while overlooking the actress's upcoming theatrical release scheduled for June 12.

Others believe the makers are deliberately keeping her character under wraps to preserve a major surprise. Given the secrecy that often surrounds films in the YRF Spy Universe, many feel the studio could be saving Sharvari's reveal for a full-length trailer.

Sharvari’s Role Is Far From a Supporting Character

Although she does not appear in the teaser, Sharvari is expected to play a significant role in Alpha. Yash Raj Films has previously introduced her as the youngest spy in the franchise, making her one of the newest additions to the popular cinematic universe.

Every official announcement regarding the film has positioned Sharvari alongside Alia Bhatt, indicating that the actress is an integral part of the story rather than a supporting character. This has only added to the speculation surrounding the decision to keep her hidden in the first teaser.

Release Date and Box Office Competition

After facing multiple postponements from its originally planned Christmas 2025 release, Alpha is now set to arrive in theatres on July 3 instead of its previously announced July 10 date. The film will go head-to-head with Huma Qureshi's Baby Do Die Do, whose teaser was released a day earlier. Early reactions on social media suggest that Huma's film has received a warmer response from audiences, setting up an interesting box office clash between the two releases.
