Dia Mirza slams PM Modi's response to NEET Paper Leak protests, says 'Not One Word of Empathy'
Dia Mirza criticised PM Narendra Modi's statement on the NEET paper leak protests, questioning the lack of empathy for students, parents and hunger strikers.
Actor Dia Mirza has reacted to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent video message on the nationwide NEET paper leak protests. Sharing her views on Instagram, the actor expressed disappointment, saying the Prime Minister's statement did not acknowledge the pain of the students and families affected by the issue.
In her post, Dia wrote, “Not one word of empathy for the parents who have lost their children, for the children who have died, for the incredible resilience of students demanding their rights, for Sonamji and the students who were on a hunger strike for weeks. How hard can it be Sir?”
'It Took 47 Days'Dia also questioned the delay in the Prime Minister's response. She wrote, “It took 47 days for you to say something. And now that you have, you have said nothing. Nothing that can heal the millions of hearts that are broken”.
The actor has been among the few celebrities who have consistently supported the student protests since they began. Through her social media posts, she has regularly highlighted the concerns of students, called for accountability, and voiced support for education reform activist Sonam Wangchuk, who was on a hunger strike during the protest.
PM Modi Assures ActionPM Modi addressed the issue after the protests at Delhi's Jantar Mantar gained momentum. In his video message, he acknowledged the concerns of students and parents, saying, “Friends, I know that paper leak is not a minor issue. It has caused immense pain to lakhs of students and their parents."
The Prime Minister also said that the accused in the NEET paper leak case have been arrested and that the government is setting up fast-track courts to ensure quicker action against those responsible.
Sonam Wangchuk Ends Hunger StrikeFollowing the Prime Minister's announcement, Sonam Wangchuk ended his hunger strike after meeting Union ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh at Medanta Hospital. Wangchuk had joined the protest on June 28, demanding government accountability over exam irregularities and the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Dia Mirza's latest social media post has added to the ongoing discussion surrounding the protests, with many continuing to debate the government's response to the exam paper leak controversy.
