What Is the Viral Claim?

The screenshot, designed to look like an Instagram Story from Kangana Ranaut's verified account, contains two claims. It says she requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to appoint her as the Education Minister of India and claimed she was the first person to reveal that India attained independence in 2014.

The post further claims that students who watched her films in theatres would receive extra marks in the NEET examination, adding that it would help end her streak of box office flops. The image has gone viral across multiple social media platforms, leading many users to believe it is genuine.

Fact Check

A review of Kangana Ranaut's official Instagram and other verified social media accounts shows no such post or Instagram Story. There is no evidence that she made these remarks. Therefore, the viral image is fake and should not be shared as authentic.

What Kangana Ranaut Actually Said?

Although the viral Education Minister post is fake, Kangana Ranaut recently made headlines for her comments about Gen Z protesters.

Criticising the language used by protesters, she wrote:

"Never in my life have I seen so much ugliness in one place. These reels from Gen Z protests are puke-inducing. The way they speak and the kind of language they are using... never in my life have I seen everything in each and every frame so jarring and so crass all at once."

She also questioned their upbringing, writing: "Ewww, who is birthing and raising them?"

Referring to protesters calling themselves "cockroaches," she said:

"India is a place of diversely beautiful people, draped in elegance and rooted in cultural sophistication. You call yourself cockroaches and look/behave like them as well. There is no paradox or juxtaposition there, just simply subjecting the world to your filth, garbage and ugliness. I am scarred from these reels. I need some healing, digital detox."

In another post, she criticised what she described as "so-called westernised Indian women," stating: "They proudly flaunt their freedom to have drugs, drinks and shamelessly live off their parents' earnings."

She also referred to them as: "Generation Gutter." Adding further: "I call them Generation Gutter. Some of them have nothing to offer to the system. They are not good at studies. They are so ugly and corrupt that they can't even be homemakers."

These are Kangana Ranaut's actual remarks, and they are unrelated to the viral screenshot claiming she sought the Education Minister's post or proposed awarding NEET marks.
