Lock Upp 2 to stream on Netflix

One of the biggest changes this season is the platform switch. The first season premiered on ALT Balaji and MX Player, but Lock Upp: Sach ya Sazaa will now stream exclusively on Netflix in collaboration with Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms Ltd. The move to a global streaming platform is expected to give the show a much larger audience and increase the excitement around the contestants and their journey.

Premiere Date and Format

The new season will premiere on June 27. A total of 14 celebrity contestants will enter the Lock Upp house, where they will remain confined for six weeks without any contact with the outside world. During their stay, contestants will compete in challenging tasks, face punishments, form alliances and survive eliminations, making the competition intense and unpredictable.

Contestants Still a Secret

While the makers have confirmed that 14 celebrities will participate, the official contestant list has not been revealed yet. However, Farah Khan hinted at the identity of the first contestant by referring to someone known for a “sudden weight loss,” leaving fans guessing.

The first season of Lock Upp, which premiered in 2022, became a major talking point because of its controversial format and shocking personal revelations by contestants. Hosted by Kangana Ranaut, the show featured celebrities from television, films and social media competing inside a jail-themed reality setup.

Comedian Munawar Faruqui emerged as the winner of the debut season, earning widespread popularity through his performance.
