Actor and businessman Raj Kundra marked his 51st birthday with the beginning of a new chapter in his career. On September 9, 2026, he officially launched his own film production house, Akaal Films.

The new banner marks another important step in Kundra’s growing connection with the film industry. Through Akaal Films, he plans to develop and produce stories that are closely connected to Punjab, its culture, history and people. At the same time, his aim is to take these stories to audiences across the world.
Akaal Films will focus on stories that explore themes such as identity, courage and sacrifice. Kundra wants to bring stories from Punjab to the screen while keeping their cultural and historical roots intact.
Sharing the announcement, Raj Kundra stated:“With Waheguru Ji’s blessings, today I introduce AKAAL FILMS, my production house, and a journey I’ve wanted to begin for a long time. His Recent Punjabi FilmThe launch comes soon after Kundra’s appearance in the Punjabi film The Great Punjab Robbery, which released in theatres on August 7, 2026.
The action-heist film featured Kundra in a prominent role alongside actors including Payal Rajput and Garvita Sadhwani. Directed by Saurabh Varma, the film followed a crime and deception-driven story centred around an elaborate heist.
The project also became an important part of Kundra’s growing presence in North Indian regional cinema. Unlike the usual Punjabi comedy films, The Great Punjab Robbery explored an action-packed crime thriller setting.
Shilpa Shetty’s Birthday WishKundra’s birthday was also made special by his wife and actress Shilpa Shetty. She shared a carousel of pictures and videos featuring personal, romantic and family moments with him.
