Salman Khan supports CJP Protest, calls students 'Courageous and Brave' over NEET Paper Leak issue
Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has backed the ongoing CJP protest over the alleged NEET paper leak, praising students for their peaceful movement and urging that the issue remain free from political interference.
Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has become the latest film personality to support the ongoing Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protest in the national capital. The movement, led by students, has been demanding action over alleged irregularities in the education system, especially the alleged leaks of the NEET examination.
Salman Khan Backs studentsOn Wednesday, Salman Khan shared an Instagram post in support of the students. Posting an old picture from his school days, the actor said that paper leaks are a serious issue and praised the students for protesting peacefully.
He wrote, “I truly appreciate the stand they have taken, showing dedication, sincerity, and keenness to study hard n make their future and a greater, educated India. This andolan, this protest, is the right way to go abt it, n the students have done this peacefully. So courageous and brave. Driven and motivated towards education, this generation will make India proud.”
Talking about the issue, Salman added, “This issue is between the students and the educational system, it should not be hijacked politically, the credit should only go to the students of our country, and I am sure the government will also give them all the support n make it a stronger educational system. It’s a win-win situation. Hoping n praying for a positive decision. God bless all of you who wanna be educated.”
The actor also said that education in India should become a "fashion trend" so that students from other countries come to India for higher studies.
Salman Khan is not the only celebrity to support the movement. Earlier, actors Omi Vaidya, Zeenat Aman, Naseeruddin Shah, Ratna Pathak Shah, Abhay Deol, Sonakshi Sinha, and Riteish Deshmukh also expressed their support for the students and appealed for peaceful protests.
The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) recently called for a march from Jantar Mantar, where protesters have been camping for nearly a month, to Parliament. The demonstrations are being held over allegations of irregularities in the education sector, particularly the alleged NEET paper leaks.
Social activist Sonam Wangchuk also joined the protest earlier this month and began a hunger strike at Jantar Mantar in support of the students' demands. Although representatives of the protesters met with officials from the central government on Tuesday, the agitation is continuing as the students await further action.
