PTC Punjabi is celebrating 18 years of an extraordinary journey, built on the foundation of Punjabi culture, entertainment, music and talent. Over nearly two decades, PTC Punjabi has evolved into a leading entertainment platform, creating opportunities for artists, celebrating excellence and taking the voice of Punjab to audiences across India and around the world.
Pioneering Punjabi TalentOne of the biggest milestones in PTC Punjabi’s journey has been Voice of Punjab, the first dedicated Punjabi singing reality show. The pioneering property has completed 16 successful seasons and is now looking forward to its 17th season, continuing its legacy of discovering and nurturing musical talent.
Over the years, Voice of Punjab has been an important stepping stone for several artists who went on to build successful careers. Ranjit Bawa emerged from VOP Season 2, Afsana Khan and Nimrat Khaira from Season 3, Hargun Kaur from Season 4 and Himmat Sandhu from Season 7. The upcoming Season 17 also features Amar Sehmbi, reflecting the show's continuing commitment to new voices. Mannat Noor, Sargi Maan and G Khan are among the other artists associated with the PTC talent ecosystem, while Himanshi Khurana, Miss PTC Punjabi 2010, represents another chapter in the platform’s talent journey.
Celebrating Excellence Across EntertainmentPTC Punjabi’s legacy extends far beyond one reality show. Voice of Punjab Chhota Champs has provided young singers with a platform, while the PTC Film Awards and PTC Music Awards have become prestigious celebrations of achievement in Punjabi cinema and music. Properties such as Punjab De Super Chef, Voice of Punjab Master Champs Ikk te Ikk 11 along with several other successful shows, have further strengthened PTC Punjabi’s diverse entertainment offering.
CEO’s Perspective on the JourneyReflecting on the 18-year journey, PTC Punjabi CEO Entertainment Rajiee M Shinde speaks about the platform’s greatest achievement helping talent grow:
"I would also like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the entire Punjabi music industry, which has always stood by us and supported us through our reality shows, events and awards. Their faith in PTC has been an integral part of our journey.
One of the things that makes me particularly proud is the fact that PTC has not just showcased talent, but has also provided a platform for talent to grow. Over the years, we have seen artists who came to us early in their journeys go on to achieve tremendous success. From Jassi Gill, Afsana Khan, Ranjit Bawa, Kaur B, Pritesh Narula, Hargun Kaur and Rashmeet Kaur, to many, many others seeing their growth and success gives us immense pride.
For me, that is one of the most rewarding aspects of PTC’s journey when the platform we created becomes a stepping stone for someone else’s dreams."
With its remarkable international presence, PTC Punjabi has carried Punjabi entertainment and culture across geographical boundaries. As it celebrates 18 years, its journey stands as a testament to talent, trust and the enduring spirit of Punjab, with many more stories and dreams still waiting to be discovered.
