Assam CM Thanks Samay Raina

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma publicly acknowledged Raina’s contribution and thanked him for supporting the state’s relief work.

The Chief Minister’s Office shared a screenshot of the bank transaction on X, showing that ₹10 lakh had been transferred by Samay Raina to the relief fund. The official handle posted, “HCM Dr @himantabiswa acknowledges the contribution of 10 lakh to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund by Shri Samay Raina.”

Sarma also personally thanked the comedian through his X account.

“Thank you for contributing to our relief efforts during this difficult time in Assam, Samay!” the Assam CM wrote.

The contribution comes as government agencies and local communities continue to respond to the flood situation and provide assistance to those affected.

Samay Raina’s Controversial Assam Connection

Samay Raina’s latest gesture is notable because his name has previously been linked to Assam for a very different reason. His connection to Assam dates back to the controversy surrounding India’s Got Latent in 2025. The programme came under intense public and legal scrutiny after an episode featuring YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia.

Allahbadia’s remarks during the episode triggered widespread criticism, turning the show into a major controversy across social media and beyond.
