Sonu Sood reaches flood-hit Nepal with relief supplies, meets affected families and promises support, saying, ‘Nepal, you are not alone.’
Bollywood actor Sonu Sood has reached Nepal as the Himalayan nation continues to face the devastating impact of recent flash floods. The actor travelled to the affected areas with relief supplies and personally met families and children who have suffered huge losses.
Sharing pictures from his visit on Instagram, Sood promised to stand with the affected people and help them rebuild their lives. In one of his posts, he wrote, “Nepal, you are not alone.”
During his visit, Sonu Sood was seen interacting with locals and assessing the situation on the ground. Standing near the Trishuli River, he spoke about the destruction caused by the floods.
“Standing here today at the Trishuli River, where the floods have left behind unimaginable loss broken homes, broken families, and lives changed forever. Nepal is not alone. I stand with its people, and I will do everything I can to bring hope, rebuild homes, and help families begin again.”
In another post, the actor added, “They lost their homes, their families, their childhood…but together, we will help them find a new beginning. Nepal, you are not alone. ❤️”
‘Sab Logon Ko Aagey Aana Chahiye’Speaking about the situation, Sood urged people around the world to come forward and support Nepal.
“Mujhe lagta hai ye poora manzar dekhte hain toh aapko pata hoga ki kis level ka impact aaya hoga. Kis taraf jab logon ke ghar nahi bache toh logon ke kya haal hue hain. Sab logon ko aagey aana chahiye. Duniya bhar se jo log jahan par bhi hain, aagey aayein aur please madad karein. In logon ke liye khada hona bahut zaroori hai taaki hum Nepal ko uske kadmon par khada karna,” Sood said.
Pointing towards the flood-hit areas, he also said, “Aap abhi bhi dekh sakte hain ki paani ka kya bahaav hai aur uss samay paani toh bahut peeche tak tha. Upar malbe tak log pahunch chuke hain. so, it's sad.”
Sood’s Team Working With OrganisationsThe actor said his team is working with several organisations to understand the challenges faced by flood victims and ensure that necessary help reaches them. His decision to personally visit the affected areas has received praise from fans, with many calling him a “real life hero”.
According to the latest update from Nepal’s disaster management authority, the floods have claimed 1,093 lives, while nearly 4,000 people remain missing and more than 11,900 have been rescued.
In another effort to support Nepal, singer Guru Randhawa has also contributed to Nepal Food Relief through a donation. Together, such efforts are bringing attention to the urgent need for relief and support as Nepal begins the difficult process of rebuilding.
