Hollywood actor John Krasinski calls Indian cinema 'inspiring' and he’d 'Love' to watch Dhurandhar

What happens when a Hollywood star talks about an Indian blockbuster? Fans get excited, of course! And that’s exactly what happened when John Krasinski opened up about Dhurandhar, the spy thriller starring Ranveer Singh. Has he watched the film yet? Not yet. But would he want to? Absolutely. In fact, the actor said he would “love” to watch it if he gets the chance. Even more interesting, Krasinski couldn’t stop praising Indian cinema and called it some of the “most cutting-edge” filmmaking happening in the world right now. 


John Krasinski expresses interest to watch Dhurandhar

John Krasinski recently shared his thoughts on Indian films and spoke warmly about Dhurandhar, the spy thriller starring Ranveer Singh. During an interview ahead of the release of Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan: Ghost War, the Hollywood actor said he has not yet watched Dhurandhar, but would “love” to see it if he gets the chance. His comments quickly caught the attention of Indian movie fans.


“Indian Films Are Cutting-Edge”

Krasinski had high praise for Indian cinema as a whole. He said some of the “most cutting-edge” filmmaking in the world is coming from India right now. According to him, many of his filmmaker friends in Hollywood are constantly amazed by the kind of movies being made here. He explained that directors and creators abroad are inspired by the storytelling, visuals, and scale of Indian films. It was a big compliment coming from an actor and filmmaker who is known globally for projects like The Office and the Jack Ryan franchise.

John Krasinski Says He Loves Watching Different Films

The actor also shared that he enjoys watching films from different parts of the world because they inspire him creatively. Speaking about Dhurandhar, Krasinski said, “Of course. I love watching anything. It's always inspiring to see what everybody else is doing.” Fans appreciated how open and respectful he sounded while talking about Indian cinema. His comments also show how Indian movies are now gaining more global attention than ever before.

Similarities Between Jack Ryan and Dhurandhar

Interestingly, there are some similarities between Jack Ryan and Dhurandhar. In the Dhurandhar films, the character Hamza Ali Mazari, also known as Jaskirat Singh Rangi, risks his life for the country while staying away from the spotlight. In Jack Ryan: Ghost War, Krasinski returns as CIA analyst-turned-operative Jack Ryan, who once again faces dangerous missions and hidden enemies. The new film also stars Wendell Pierce, Michael Kelly, and Sienna Miller. The film is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video. 


Dhurandhar Continues Its Winning Run

Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar became a massive success after its release in December 2025. Its sequel, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, released in March 2026 and continued the strong momentum at the box office. Together, both films reportedly earned more than Rs 3,000 crore worldwide. With international stars like John Krasinski now talking about the franchise, the popularity of Dhurandhar seems to be growing even bigger on the global stage.
