Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh shares a health update, reveals he has lived with a gallbladder stone since 2015, and explains why his Gutka Sahib has been with him since 2002.
Global star Diljit Dosanjh has won millions of hearts with his music, films and humble personality. While fans often admire his stylish looks and larger-than-life performances, the singer recently offered a glimpse into the personal items that matter most to him. As he unpacked his Satoshi Nakamoto-studded weekender bag, Diljit spoke about the one possession that has stayed with him for over two decades his Gutka Sahib. He also made a surprising confession about a health issue he has quietly lived with since 2015.
Gutka Sahib That Has Never Left Diljit's SideFor Diljit, the most valuable item in his bag is not a luxury accessory but his Gutka Sahib, the Sikh prayer book that has travelled with him since the beginning of his career.
"I carried this since 2002," the singer shared, recalling the early days of his music journey. He revealed that he has kept the same Gutka Sahib with him ever since he started touring. Whether performing in small venues in Punjab or on some of the world's biggest stages, the holy book has remained a constant source of faith and strength.
Alongside it, he also carries a Rudraksha and a bracelet gifted by a fan after his Madison Square Garden concerts. Though he admitted he does not know much about the stones, he said he treasures them because they were gifted with love.
Diljit Dosanjh Reveals Health Secret He Never Shared BeforeThe biggest revelation came when Diljit spoke about a medical condition that he had never discussed publicly.
Calling it a "very, very secret," the singer revealed that doctors found an 11-12 mm stone in his gallbladder in 2015 after he experienced stomach pain. At the time, doctors recommended surgery to remove it.
However, Diljit decided against the operation after a friend advised him that if the stone was not causing discomfort, there was no need to rush into surgery.
Nearly eleven years later, the actor said the gallbladder stone has never troubled him. He even believes it may have disappeared naturally, although he still carries medicine with him while travelling as a precaution. Interestingly, he admitted that he had not even told his family or close friends about this health condition before sharing it now.
His Traditional Wellness RoutineDiljit also shared one of his favourite wellness habits that he follows every night. He carries a bottle containing a mixture of neem oil and mustard oil, which he applies to his belly button before going to bed.
According to him, nurturing the belly button is important because he believes it is connected to the rest of the body. He said people can also use coconut oil or ghee, but he personally prefers the neem and mustard oil blend. While this practice is rooted in traditional wellness beliefs, its health benefits are not backed by strong scientific evidence.
What's in Diljit Dosanjh's bag?Apart from the Gutka Sahib and his wellness essentials, Diljit keeps his laptop filled with music and tour plans, headphones, healthy makhana snacks and a Sallai, a traditional tool used while tying his turban. He also shared that yoga and meditation are a part of his daily routine, helping him stay calm amid a busy schedule.
