Veteran Pakistani actor Bushra Ansari has praised Diljit Dosanjh’s latest film Satluj, saying it deeply moved her and left her emotional. In a video shared on her Instagram account, Ansari spoke about the film and said it highlighted one of the darkest chapters in history with honesty and courage.
She said she had heard a lot about the film before watching it, but what she saw left her heartbroken. According to Ansari, the story made her grieve for the people of Indian Punjab and stayed with her long after the film ended.
Calls Diljit’s Work Brave and MeaningfulAnsari praised Diljit Dosanjh for taking on such a sensitive subject. She said she admired the actor for choosing to tell an important story that many people may find difficult to discuss.
She also spoke about how painful it was to watch people from the same community turn against each other, something that the film portrays. She added that such tragic events affected people on both sides of the India-Pakistan border.

Says the Film Stayed With HerAnsari also revealed that she could not sleep properly for days after watching Satluj because of its emotional impact. She mentioned that although the film was removed from streaming in India, it was still available online for viewers who wanted to watch it.
About SatlujSatluj was released directly on the streaming platform Zee5 on July 3 instead of having a theatrical release. However, it was removed from the platform just two days later.
The film is inspired by the life of human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra, who investigated allegations of enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings during the separatist insurgency in Punjab. Khalra was later abducted and murdered, and several police officers were eventually convicted for their involvement in his killing.
