The notice also states that operating through anonymous or fake accounts, reposting content or claiming that a person only forwarded the material would not necessarily protect them from legal action. It further mentions the use of digital forensic methods to identify those involved.

Sarbjit Singh Cheema Speaks About His Family

Cheema has also spoken about the issue and highlighted the importance of protecting his family’s privacy and dignity. In his statement, the singer wrote:

“It has come to my attention that completely false, fabricated, and defamatory information is being circulated across various social media and media platforms, including YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, WhatsApp, and others, concerning my son and members of my family.

Spreading baseless allegations, publishing or sharing someone’s private life, photographs, or videos without consent, and creating misleading stories based on false or unverified information is an extremely serious and irresponsible act. Such conduct can have devastating consequences for the mental and physical well-being of the individuals and families involved.

My family’s privacy, dignity, and well-being are not matters to be exploited for views, followers, engagement, or personal gain. I will not remain silent while false information and malicious rumours continue to be circulated about my family.

My legal team has taken note of the individuals, accounts, pages, channels, and platforms involved, and all relevant material is being preserved. Appropriate legal advice is being sought, and legal proceedings and other necessary action will be pursued against those responsible, where warranted.

Let this serve as a clear and formal notice: anyone who continues to create, publish, share, or promote false and defamatory content concerning my family should be aware that their actions may have legal consequences.”

What singer suggested to the Social Media Users

The legal notice and Cheema’s statement together send a clear message against spreading unverified information. The family has urged people to avoid creating, sharing or promoting content that could invade their privacy or damage their reputation.
