The much-discussed divorce case involving Govinda and Sunita Ahuja has taken a major turn. According to the reports, Govinda’s manager, Shashi Sinha, has confirmed that Sunita has withdrawn her divorce petition against the actor. The news comes after months of speculation surrounding the couple’s nearly 40-year marriage. Sinha called the decision “happy news” and clarified that there is no separation between Govinda and Sunita.

Did Sunita Withdraw Divorce Petition?

Speaking about the development, Shashi Sinha said Sunita has decided to take the divorce case back and move forward with her family. He expressed happiness over her decision but also regretted that the matter had become public.

According to him, the difficult phase is now in the past. He said Govinda and the children are neutral about the decision and suggested that Sunita realised her mistake and chose to return home.

Divorce Case Was Filed In 2024

Sunita had reportedly filed a divorce petition at the Bandra Family Court on December 5, 2024. The petition was filed under Section 13(1)(i), (ia) and (ib) of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955. Adultery, cruelty and desertion were reportedly mentioned as grounds for seeking divorce.

The case attracted significant attention because Govinda and Sunita have been married for almost four decades and have often been seen as one of Bollywood’s long-lasting couples.

Public Tension Added To Speculation

The latest development comes shortly after Sunita and Govinda made headlines over comments involving his Roopa co-star Komal Rani Swarnkar. After Govinda was spotted with the actress during the film’s promotions, Sunita publicly criticised the situation and questioned his decision to associate with her.

Govinda And Sunita Showed Signs Of Reconciliation

Despite the controversy, there were also moments suggesting that the couple remained connected. When Sunita appeared on Lock Upp 2, Govinda came to receive her after her eviction. He spoke warmly about their relationship and described their difficult period as a phase they had overcome.

Sunita later also said that she and Govinda were together and suggested that family matters should remain within the family.
